Donkey Foals - the Ultimate "Warm Fuzzies" Miniature
donkeys are among the most adorable creatures, and miniature donkey foals are the cutest,
most adorable of all. While there is not a "miniature donkey for sale" sign on
every mini donkey foal, we thought you would enjoy seeing them all. These miniature
donkey foals are the result of thoughtful breeding of our quality, registered miniature
donkey jacks and jennets. In order to produce miniature donkeys of the highest quality,
each mating is carefully planned to strengthen the characteristics of the parents. If you
have specific interest in a particular miniature donkey foal on the way or one on this page,
please let us know. We invite you to visit our donkey brood jennet page where we list which
jennet is bred to which jack and the approximate due date. |

Bella
Bella Helena! There is no other word for this beautiful jennet! Her
mother, Black Helen, has given us three beautiful jennets. This miniature
donkey jennet is a spot, with a 50/50 color pattern, and full black
eyeliner. We really like how she has dark over her back and on the
backs of her legs. She shows a faint dorsal stripe, but has white where
the cross would be. Very pretty little jenny, Bella Helena!

what a gorgeous little jack he is! His dam is an intense true black

with heavy bone. Both very correct, we see that this foal has inherited
his sire's stocky build, and his mother's black color. These first
pictures were taken when Swashbuckler was just 12 hours old.

Another
beautiful foal out of Apple Blossom! Lilac Blossom is a full
sister to The Elms Rose Blossom, who is joining our breeding career
this year, and to The Elms Renoir born in 2009. The older siblings
have wide chests, round hips, good back line, stocky build, and pretty
heads. Rose Blossom is a red, and semi long haired. Renoir appears
to be a true long haired jack. We love the structure on the Rembrandt
foals, they are built! Whether her hair is long or not, this is a beautiful
little jennet and we are very happy to welcome her to our farm.

her babies, and loves to nuzzle the hair off their backs. It may be

The
nickname for Fission is Fizzy, and he has an effervescent personality,
running all over the field, wrapping around my legs, doesn't know a
stranger! We can tell his base color is dark red, and he has
lots of roan in his coat, giving a beautiful frosted look. This roan
effect may disappear later, letting all his dark red show through.
Some very fine miniature donkeys in his pedigree, reading like a who's
who of the donkey world. For now we delight in his frisky personality,
and will enjoy watching him develop.

than his foal coat. In this picture of him rolling, he just looks

This

he was even dry. The three spots on his left hip made me think of star

We have
been waiting for this foal all fall, and all winter. Dottie was very
comfortable and in no hurry to have her foal. She foaled at 4 in the
afternoon, doing everything right, and we are thrilled to have this
lovely spotted jennet safely here. Dottie's Valentine was on her feet
quickly, nursing well, and completely dry before the temperature outside
started to drop into the single digits. Dottie is thrilled to have
this foal, she is behaving perfectly as a new mother. With 12" of
snow on the ground, and temperatures very cold, it will be several
days before mother and foal go outside.
